This is
farming

Alongside animal husbandry, we place great emphasis on respectful relationships with farmers, staff, the retail trade as well as customers who are at the top of the tree.

That’s delicious!

The satisfaction of our customers? At WECH, it’s exactly what matters! Straight-forward, genuine and with stringent rules for great poultry. After all, when our customers are happy, so are we - it gives us wings!

Clean and safe.

Food safety is not just a phrase at WECH, it is what we are all about - or put differently, we’re hen-dy at it! We keep everything spotless - from the barn to the plate. Safe and healthy is our motto, without compromises. As the environment is also very important to us, animal and environmental protection are very much parts of the main course for us. This means our poultry doesn't just taste better, it just feels so much better too!

The WECH principle: No chicken-and-egg puzzle

At WECH, our seven quality factors ensure the exceptional and constantly improving quality of our products.

  1. 1 Flavour quality
  2. 2 Aesthetic quality
  3. 3 Suitability
  4. 4 Value to health
  5. 5 Ecological quality
  6. 6 Social quality
  7. 7 Service quality

The recipe is “integrated production”.

Keeping as much of our production in-house, from the egg to a whole chicken or turkey, minimises the risk of importing illnesses down to practically nothing. All WECH poultry farmers are members of the QGV, the Austrian poultry health service, which maintains a unique pan-European database that ensures 100% traceability. Optimal hygiene, excellent animal welfare and ideal preventative measures to maintain animal health all ensure premium quality. Furthermore, our farmers and hatcheries are all organised as part of production unions (Lavanttaler Geflügelring, Kärntner Truthahnproduktionsgemeinschaft und Geflügelgenossenschaft Österreichs) and have close links with us. All animal farmers who supply our chickens and turkeys also follow stringent guidelines in terms of farming their animals, feed, and transportation. Our in-house management for the pre-production phase makes us the peck of the crop!

Happy hens and staff

Both the welfare of our chickens and turkeys, as well as our staff, are of the utmost importance to us. The quality of our products, level of customer satisfaction and the competitiveness of our family business are determined via a cooperative leadership style under the motto “motivation via information, responsibility and training”. Things are informal here, we all get involved, everyone knows each other, some are even related and best of all: There might be the odd mad bird here at WECH, but no-one ever claims they are the cock of the walk!

€4 million for the environment: How WECH is “hen-dling” the energy revolution.

From St. Andrä to Glanegg, at WECH we are all about sending a clear sign for sustainability and environmental protection via pioneering measures. An investment of €4 million into renewable energies in 2024 meant we reached another milestone on our way to a green future.

We live for quality standards,
and they set us apart
